Songs for Abir

After The Promised Path (2020–2023), a cycle of melodies exploring the story of a woman in love and waiting, the musical journey continues with the talented singer Abir Derbel and the iconic playwright Leila Toubel. This time, through songs inspired by texts specially written by Leila Toubel, which set moments of life to music. This project delicately evokes the words of daily life, the passage of time, and fleeting joys and sorrows.

In each of these songs, Leila Toubel’s words once again resonate with the soul of the Tunisian dialect, infused with sensitivity. Meanwhile, Abir Derbel becomes the touching echo of this new universe. Mehdi Trabelsi appears to seek a more stripped-down sensitivity this time, balancing lightness and intensity through songs with an immediate character and universal reach.
